Help With Law Exams Book Reviews
If you are studying the OCR specification for AS Law then we recommend you buy a copy of Jacqueline Martin's latest edition of The English Legal Sysytem. Now in its 5th edition it has comprehensive coverage of the whole specification and is a must buy for those students wishing to achieve the higher grades.
As an alternative or as an addittional book the latest edition of AS Level Law is also an excellent aid to success at AS Law. The A-Z of Law is also extremely useful for making sure you never get confused because you don't understand a legal term.
Further Reading
When studying law its vital that you 'read around the course' - The Juryman's Tale is an excellent book which takes you through the process of serving on a jury in a witty and interesting way. Eve Was Framed offers an impassioned, personal critique of the British legal system. Helena Kennedy focuses on the treatment of women in our courts - at the prejudices of judges, the misconceptions of jurors, the labyrinths of court procedures and the influence of the media. But the inequities she uncovers could apply equally to any disadvantaged group - to those whose cases are subtly affected by race, class, poverty or politics, or who are burdened, even before they appear in court, by misleading stereotypes.
There are hundreds of other books which students studying AS & A2 law will find both fascinating and useful to their studies. One such book is Presumed Guilty written by Michael Mansfield QC, a brilliant exposure of the English criminal justice sysytem. Follow this link
